In 2013, the Museum of Art acquired a set of graphics by artist Romana Rotterová (* 17. 10. 1931). On the occasion of the acquisition and as an accompaniment to monographic exhibition in Horácká Gallery in New Town in Moravia, we prepared a short documentary about her life.
Although Romana Rotterová is solitaire, she is ranked in the framework of new tendencies sensitivity or imaginative structuralism. Work presented at exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Its domain is also a textile art, graphic design and poetry. Works by Rotterová are also represented in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles.
Selection of our set we introduced in 2014 at an exhibition in Central Europe graphics of the late 20th century. In 2017 the graphics by Romana Rotterová should also be included in the exhibition Czech women authors of the period.
Exhibition in Horácká Gallery in New Town in Moravia, called Path was launched on January 12 and will last till April 24.
