"Quarks and Cracklings"
The exhibition and the extensive accompanying publication will complete the “free trilogy”, which gradually maps the artistic events in Central Moravia from 1945 to the present. It will thus follow on from the earlier major projects “Announcement of Icarus’ Flight.” Olomouc’s Sixties in the Mirror of Artistic Culture from 1998 and Greenhouse. Chapters from the History of Olomouc’s Artistic Culture 1969–1989 from 2009.
In addition to free art (painting, sculpture, drawing, graphics, sculpting, photography), due attention will also be paid to applied art (especially graphic design), architecture, art in public spaces, gallery and institutional operations, and major multi-genre festivals.
The accompanying publication with rich visual material will, in addition to art historical articles, also contain a philosophical and sociological study on the topic of the transformation process of society in local conditions, medallions of the most important artists, galleries and institutions, a list of literature and other essentials belonging to the standard equipment of a scientific publication.
