On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the International Year of the Family, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1994, called on the UNs Member States to the celebration of this anniversary join. The letter of invitation was joined by a group of photographers Lucia Petrůjová, Jindrich Streit and Oldrich Kucera. Concept and sources of inspiration for the exhibition approached one of the authors, Lucie Petrůjová, who works in the center of Ostrava for the family: “The family is a tremendous value. Irreplaceable. A child born out of love of their parents. A child growing to independence in respect of their parents. Family, where like coming back, where we have our base. The family who accompanies and protects us in good times and in bad. An infinite number of sentences that hardly captures the essence and artificial wealth and family. These sentences Today, however, many may sound unbelievable, have their own painful experience disappointment. Something else was at the beginning and at the end of something else. But it is more necessary to protect the family, showing its importance to create conditions for the formation and stability of families, to appreciate the enormous value of motherhood and fatherhood, the value of loyalty, solidarity, respect and humility with each other. Our exhibition is a small contribution to this mosaic. “
