The Museum of Art has a new audio guide
The new audio guide of the Olomouc Museum of Art offers its visitors of permanent exhibitions a new audio guide in Chinese, Korean, Russian, German, Polish, Czech and English. Visitors can simply download it on our site to a smartphone or tablet. Tablets can also be rented for free in the museum. While using the audio guide, the headphones have to be used in order not to disturb other visitors. Even the headphones can be rented in the museum. There are two permanent exhibitions accompanied by the audio guide – the permanent exhibition in the Archdiocesan Museum and the exhibition Century of Relativity displaying the visual art of the 20th century in the Museum of Modern Art.
“The application is very user friendly; the visitors can simply download it on our website from the section For visitors or Exhibitions. There is an icon of the audio guide to be selected, the next steps are to choose the language of the tour and then one of the two permanent exhibitions themselves. The audio guide can be downloaded via the visitors own mobile data or via the museum Wi-Fi,” explains the spokesman of the Olomouc Museum of Art Tomáš Kasal.
“The visitors can listen to the guide through the headphones, or, who prefers, can read the accompanying texts in his mobile device. For better orientation in the exhibition, the exhibits are provided with numbers. The most interesting exhibits are acompanied with a picture in the guide,” adds Kasal.
“If an organized larger group of visitors plans to comes to the museum and use the audio guide, we advise to download the guide in advance, as the the Wi-Fi might work less fast while being used for download of the application by tens of people at once. Anyway, an individual download does not take longer than a few seconds,” remarks the spokesman.
We would like to express our gratitude for the support of the project by the City of Olomouc which made the realisation of the audio guide possible.
