The exhibition Flashback: Hermit 1992-1999 enters its second phase, which is the reinstallation of part of the exhibition. The toy machines of the Dutch artist duo Petra Dubach and Mario van Horrik are replaced by an installation that is the result of a playfully improvised dialogue between Petr Nikl and Ondřej Smeykal. Directly in the exhibition space, on Thursday the artists will present the performative-musical performance O-Hatching, the remains of which in the form of objects, musical instruments and other kinds of recordings have become the basis for a multimedia installation.
Ondřej Smeykal and Petr Nikl met during symposia and festivals in Plasy. Since then they have collaborated on many successful group projects such as Nest of Games, Play, and Orbis Pictus. In recent years, they have been working on the project Hatchery, a series of improvised performances in which the authors focus on the complex interconnection of light, action and sound. At the Olomouc version of Líhň they will also present the latest version of Nikls variable instrument Flip and Smeykals new installation composed of parts of pendlová and sewing machines.
