Applied graphics

The collection consists of 25,200 items, including bookplates, New Year’s cards, and other small-scale applied graphics. The prints date from 1870 to 1989, but the core of the collection comes from the second half of the 20th century.

The most numerous are works by Czech and Slovak artists (roughly 20,000 sheets by 500 authors), ranging from small prints by Josef Mánes and Mikoláš Aleš to numerous collections by Josef Váchal, František Kobliha, Vojtěch Preissig, and Karel Wellner, to selections from the works of leading Olomouc graphic artists from 1967–1986.

To a lesser extent, there are also authors from other parts of Europe (especially Germany and Austria), Japan, America, and Australia. In 2005, the collection was expanded with the acquisition of 63 Czech film posters from the 1960s to the 1980s.
