Zdeněk Sýkoras painting The Line No. 56 (Humberto) from 1988, which has a collection of the Olomouc Museum of Art, is on a new postage stamp. It belongs to the series Czech Post called Artworks on Stamps. The Mladá fronta DNES wrote this article.

“Every year, two to three occasional stamps depicting works of art from different periods, which are represented in major galleries, but also held by private collectors, are published,” said Ivo Vysoudil from the Czech Posts Communications Department.

The original image of Line No. 56 is in the collection of the Museum of Art in Olomouc, the screen measures 2 × 2 meters. The postage stamp had to be reduced to 40 × 50 millimeters. “I am pleased that the work is monumental even in a small format,” said the painters wife Lenka Sýkorová, with whom Česká pošta consulted the issue.
