NEWS | 13. 10. 2017 For 27 years Olomouc did not experience the ordination of the Bishop. But on Saturday, October 14th, it will change, in St. Wenceslaus will be ordained by two auxiliary bishops. On this occasion the entrance to the Archdiocesan Museum will be free for the whole Saturday.

The consecration of the two auxiliary bishops of the Olomouc Archdiocese will allow all visitors to enter the Archdiocesan Museum for free all Saturday. This is the event that last happened in Olomouc lasting twenty-seven years.

The very episcopal consecration of Mons. Antonín Basler and Mons. Josef Nuzik will start in the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas on Saturday at 10 oclock. The consecration will be granted by the Metropolitan of Moravia and the Archbishop of Olomouc Jan Graubner, after Pope Frantisek named the Assistant Bishops in July.

A few thousand believers are expected

The majority of Czech and Moravian bishops should attend the celebration itself. But guests from Poland, Germany or Slovakia are also waiting. It is expected from Saturday morning in the cathedral of St. Wenceslas and a large number of believers in the area, up to several thousand. Large screen screens in the cathedral and in front of it will be ready for them. All visitors will be ordained, but not only will the Archdiocesan Museum be fully available, including precious works in the gallery, treasury, or magnificent coach of Bishop Troyer.
