The solemn spirit was celebrated on Saturday morning in Olomouc, mainly in the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas and the Archdiocesan Museum. Twenty-seven years later, two new bishops were consecrated. Olomouc Museum of Art decided for this occasion to have a free entrance to the Archdiocesan Museum on Saturday.

The very ordination of Mons. Antonín Basler and Mons. Josef Nuzik to the auxiliary bishops attracted several thousand believers. Cathedral of St. Wenceslas, as well as the space in front of her, filled up so quickly. The ordination was granted to the new bishops by the Metropolitan of Moravia and the Archbishop of Olomouc Jan Graubner, after Pope František was appointed by the bishops in July.

The people who came to this unusual event could then visit the Archdiocesan Museum, where the past of the Olomouc archbishopric was waiting for them. So they could see the chariot of Bishop Troyer, Sebastians Madonna with the veil or the Golden Sunset of Moravia. There was also a magnificent view of the cathedral from the museum area, which undermined the beautiful autumn weather.

Who did not visit the Archdiocesan Museum on Saturday but does not despair. We are open daily except Mondays. Every Sunday there is free admission. Come and see the places where history went.
