Vladimír Kordoš (*1945 Nemecká Lupča, SK)
Tribute to Caesar, 1970
Pressed cans, 60x40x10 cm, Acquired in 2007, P 1251-1252
Vladimír Kordoš paid tribute to Caesar in a modern way using accumulated empty Coca-Cola cans, a non-alcoholic beverage famous world-wide, at the legendary first „open studio“ in the house of the Slovak artist Rudolf Sikora. He complemented the visual look of the perfectly pressed cans by a sound recording of the process during which cans were formed into a neat block and, thus, presented the process of creation of the work.
