Kroměříž Archdiocesan Museum | staircase in front of the Chateau Picture Gallery of Archbishop’s Chateau in Kroměříž

Exhibition of a single work by a young painter Michal Ožibko (b. 1981) fits in perfectly with the exhibition choreography of the Kroměříž Archdiocesan Museum. The work of monumental dimensions (500 x 400 cm) with modern classical form and strong spiritual content turns to  visitors of the castle, and by means of deliberate contrast with baroque spaces contributes to the discussion on exhibiting of modern and contemporary art in the historic places. At the same time the work through its iconography fills spaces of the Archbishop’s Chateau with a new genius loci and interconnects the tradition of spiritual painting in the collections of the Archbishopric of Olomouc with the present.
