The author has been involved in the interpretation of maps and landscapes. The latest project is working with the city landscape of global metropolises. Font and language are an important part of this experiment. It focuses on the names on the map as a concept that is easily changeable, destructible and is the holder of a long memory space.

Jana Kasalová, PhD. studied painting with Professor Jiří Načeradský at FaVU in Brno. She did postgraduate studies in art and art therapy at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and in Cuenca. She has lived and worked in London, Paris and New York and has had her work exhibited at home and also abroad. Her work is represented in many public and private art collections in Europe and the USA. She is primarily focused on drawing and painting, as well as audio-visual installations, video art and photography. She has long been dedicated in her work to interpretations of landscape and cartography, definitions of the body and human traces on the landscape, and the concept of animals and animal transformations in her work. Her main theme is discovering as a process, and finding human orientation in real space and time.
