Museum of Modern Art | Picture Gallery

This exhibition presenting one of the major figures of Czech art of the 20th century, which had its opening at the Prague Castle, will also be taking place in Olomouc. The work of Emil Filla was based upon solutions to the creative questions of Modern art, primarily Expressionism and Cubism, followed by additional tendencies in art of the 1930s and 1940s with references to the social and spiritual movements of modern times. The exhibition is the first retrospective of the author’s extensive oeuvre with an appreciation of not only his undoubted leading artistic position in Czech Expressionism and Cubism in the 1920s, but also his work from the 1930s and 1940s.
