Roman Brychta

*1967 (Czech Republic)
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, School of Architecture
Lives and works in Prague

Architect and university teacher, graduated from the Emil Přikryl School of Architecture in 1995. In 2002 he founded Projektil architekti studio with his colleagues. Since 2011 he has been the head of the Architecture Studio IV at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague, where he was appointed professor in 2021. In 2020 he founded his own studio Roman Brychta Architekti. As part of the team, he has successfully participated in many architectural competitions, winning the National Architecture Award for the Sluňákov Centre for Ecological Activities in Horka near Olomouc and the National Technical Library in Prague with his colleagues.

Barbora Šimonová

Markéta Mráčková and Barbora Šimonová have been working as an author duo since 2013. Together, they founded the cultural cooperative cosa.cz, with the aim of covering diverse activities in the fields of architecture, visual arts, literature and film. Together, they received a scholarship to the School of Architecture at Tianjin University and have completed artist residencies in Rustavi, Kharkov and Český Krumlov. Since 2016, they have been working on a video series about 1980s buildings called cosa.tv. Occasionally they produce architectural rap music. Since 2020 they have been working as assistants to Roman Brychta at the Studio of Architecture IV at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague.
