In its twelve chapters the Art & Print catalogue presents a curated selection of more than two hundred prints that not only illustrate the character of the collection, but also the transformations in forms, themes and functions that graphic art underwent over the course of five centuries. This includes examples of woodcuts from the Late Gothic and Renaissance periods, outstanding engravings by the masters of Mannerism, a wide range of Baroque etchings, as well as examples of the universal technique of lithography that dominated printmaking in the 19th century.

Grafika se jako samostatný umělecký obor začala v Evropě rozvíjet na konci středověku. Vzrůstající výroba papíru brzy umožnila téměř neomezenou produkci grafických listů, které se na počátku uplatňovaly jako náhrada drahé deskové malby nebo iluminovaných rukopisů. V evropském prostředí byla grafika zejména účinným nástrojem šíření evangelia, neboť její relativní dostupnost vyhovovala potřebám osobní zbožnosti.
