After an unsuccessful operation in the Ruhr, the thief Trojan returns to Berlin, which he had to leave twelve years ago because of his dishonest activities. The filmmakers model the German capital as an almost deserted, dead-looking mix of architectural glass and steel, soulless hostels and bankrupt cultural institutions. And yet, it is here that Trojan seems to have the great opportunity he has been hoping for: the final commission that will change everything – the theft of the 1818 painting Woman Before Sunset.
