The mass robes were always a bit in the shadow of sculptures or paintings – people could only see them during worship. At the same time in the Olomouc Cathedral of St. Over the centuries, Wenceslas has amassed a rich collection of paraments (liturgical garments), the origin of which can be traced back to the 15th century.
Some of them also carry a strong story: a robe sewn from the textile of a Turkish general or the parament used in the coronation of Maria Theresa to the Czech queen. Thanks to the project of the Cyril and Methodius Theological Faculty of Palacký University, it was possible to at least partially trace the ancient donors or the circumstances of the origin of the robes and expose some of them.
The main part of the exhibition is in the crypt of the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas in Olomouc, complemented by smaller installations in the permanent exhibition of the Olomouc Archdiocesan Museum and in the Archbishops Palace.
