At the weekend, we hosted a workshop led by Péter Forgách from the Kassák Museum in Budapest, which focuses on the leading figure of the Hungarian avant-garde, Lajos Kassák. And so Péter brought a piece of the Hungarian avant-garde to Olomouc. The participants of the workshop created Dadaist poems and collages, made dough of different colours and flavours and used a pasta machine to make spaghetti, which they then cooked and made their own Dadaist lunch, and made Dada stamps out of potatoes. One of the etudes was a game of lazy artist, and then they were tasked with documenting this in photos and video. Finally, following on from the Hermit exhibition that had just finished, they collected sounds and did creative tasks using animation cases created by our tutor Denisa Tessenyi. "This was the best weekend of my life," one of the participants summed up at the end. The workshop was the first of its kind that we tried in an international collaboration. More workshops will continue next year.
