The lecture by the Hebraist and historian Zbyněk Tarant from the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň will present the role of Leo Hermann in the Bar Kochba association, which he also chaired (it was during his chairmanship that Martin Buber delivered his famous Three Essays on Judaism). However, it will focus mainly on the rescue actions in the shadow of the incipient Nazi occupation, which Hermann organised.
