Societas Iesu: Faith - Art - Science Martin Pavlíčeks lecture series
The second most important saint and co-founder of the order, famous for his mission trips to India and Japan. Despite the confrontational nature of his actions, he managed to support or establish a number of Christian "colonies" in these countries. His unsuccessful attempt to penetrate China was perfectly followed by the Jesuits of the Baroque period, who worked there at the imperial court as respected mathematicians, astronomers, musicians and botanists.
