In the Archbishop Chateau in Kroměříž continues project whose goal is the restoration and preservation of selected paintings and furniture equipment from the former bishops residence. Savings now made it possible to extend the scope of the project, which is funded by the European Economic Area. Restored may be another ten paintings and extended a list of items procured for the protection and preservation of collections.

The project was originally planned to March of this year and its costs are estimated to 18.7 million, while grants from the fund EEA amounted to nearly 15 mil. CZK. In December last year, it also provided funds in the amount of half a million crowns town Kroměříž and Zlín Region in January gave a million crowns.

After completion of procurement procedures showed that the project has resulted in savings amounting to about $ 3.6 million. "We have therefore decided to extend the project for the restoration of paintings and ten other buy other equipment for collections care, to grant approval could be exhausted as much as possible," said Štěpán Sittek, Project Manager of the Olomouc Archdiocese, which owns the inventory Kroměříž Chateau.

After negotiations with the donator has managed to extend the project until April 30, 2017 and to include three new activities. Newly restored and will be ten paintings from the collections of the castle - a set of nine lunettes of the major Flemish painter Renier Meganck and the painting "The woman and the boy with a candle" based on a castle tour.

The project partners are the Olomouc Museum of Art, the National Heritage Institute and Norsk Institutt for Kulturminne-forskning. The project involves an exchange of experience between all partners in the restoration and presentation of artworks to be concluded by a joint international professional conferences.
